Where I went...

Top - vintage
Skirt - Zara

Well, it has been an awful long time since i posted and for that I apologise! However i am not going to spend hours gushing as I know some people find that annoying and Downton Abbey starts in a minute! Anyway this is when i went to see the Fratellis comeback tour a couple of weeks back with my friend! I used to be obsessed with The Fratellis when i was younger and was disappointed when they faded out of the music scene! However now they are back and hopefully here to stay!

It was a brilliant night and i'm sure i must of annoyed a few of the people standing around me while I wailed along to pretty much every song but hey-ho! I always struggle with what to wear for gigs but i decided this was suitable in the end, not too warm, not to revealing, just right!

Anyway i'm going to turn ITV on! See 'ya soon!

(I apologise for my lovely hall way and even a glimpse of the toilet that you get in these pictures!)

So finally, the last two days before I go back to school, the sun has decided to grace us with his/her presence. How thoughtful of it! Don't get me wrong, I am pleased at the short opportunity to top up my quickly fading Mallorcan tan; it's just a shame it couldn't of come out perhaps a little faster! It seems to be the same every year; july and August are mainly cool(ish) and rainy, excluding the odd couple of hot days, and September, the time we no longer get to enjoy it, is practically Mediterranean! Oh well, what can you do?

This is a post of what I'm wearing today. It's not exactly a ground breaking outfit granted but I think it has a certain retro charm! In the bottoms department I was rather stuck between wearing something that would compliment my top, and also something that would keep me cool enough in the boiling September sunshine. Denim shorts are a staple in my summer wardrobe, I have about four pairs of them. These ones are different to my others however, because I feel they have a slightly more retro feel to them with the pocket detail, the brighter hue of blue and the high waist.
I really like this top, it's so pretty and I am a complete sucker for lace and collars so this was the perfect combination! Plus, it was a bargain at a mere £10 in the Urban Outfitters sale! I didn't wear this to anywhere in particular, just for a mooch about my village to run errands and for a sit in the garden with a glass of fresh orange juice. All in all it's been a fairly relaxing day sorting things out.

Has anyone being up to anything nice? Let me know I the comments if you like, I'd love to hear from you!

P.S - Maia is also taking advantage of the sun, bathing in the light coming through the window the cutie!

Look what I did

Hello there!
Here is the little addition I made to my bedroom the other day in an act of boredom. I've been collecting various magazine cutouts and little post cards from places I've been and things I have done for quite a while now! My problem was that I couldn't decide how to display them best in my room. I was just having a lazy day sat eating cherry bakewells and reading a few blogs when I came across a picture on one of the blogs (sadly i can't remember which blog it was) with pictures hung on a sort of washing line across a wall. So I decided to get busy and carefully align my collection of cuttings and memories along a piece of string. I would have preferred to use wooden pegs but I had to make do with what I had in the house, but next time I go out i'll try and get some! Anyway, it's probably not the best creation in the world but I like it and it fits with the rest of my room, homemade bunting and all!

Late Latitude

Beautiful art and pretty coloured sheep! It felt like a little fairytale kingdom!

The Crooks. A really good small band- definitely worth a listen to their music.

So much mud!

My friend Caroline looking stunning as per.

Laura Marling- She has the most beautiful voice in the world!

Me looking a little startled with Jamie Laing- it's fair to say I have abit of an obsession!

What I wore on the last day. My hair looks particularly pretty after having it washed and styled at the on site salon!

This is the salon, it was pretty amazing!

Sneaky shot of caroline's beautiful shirt!

Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros

Gorgeous handmade bunting

Ben Howard. He is the personifacation of cute!

Me and Caroline ending the weekend on a high

These are just a few pictures taken at Latitude festival which I went to with my friend Caroline (as seen in several of the above photos). It was an amazing weekend full of fashion and amzing music! My favourite act was definitely Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros; so energetic and such feel good music! Sorry these are so late as the festival was about three weeks ago but I have just got back from a two week holiday to Mallorca so I've been reasonably busy!

I went for one week with my choir and we performed several concerts at different venues in Mallorca and then my family met me out there for a week so all in all I've had a pretty amazing two weeks. Helped by the fact that i spotted and walked within a metre of Noel Gallagher in one of the smallest villages in Mallorca. I was considering asking for a picture but decided not to disturb him as he was at the time pushing his baby in a pram up a rather steep hill! The spot alone kept me on a high for the rest of the holiday anyway!
Im sure by now you've had enough of my ramblings so I'll leave it there.
I've had an amazing holiday so far and hopefully it will keep getting better!

Mud and fashion from Latitude

Top - Zara
Shorts - Topshop
Necklace - Topshop
Wellies - Kurt Geiger
Socks - Jack Wills
Earrings - Topshop

Just a quick outfit post from one of the days at Latitude festival, which I went to last weekend with my friend Caroline. It was absolutely amazing; I had such a good time. I have more pictures from the festival to come but I thought I’d keep this an outfit post. I got these mint leather shorts in the Topshop sale! I love them, they are so cool and the colour is lovely, plus they were half price at £15 and I do love a bargain! I'm trying to refrain from sounding pretentious here but I love the contrast in colours and fabrics between the top and shorts! As you can see I have my wellies on; they don't look too bad here but there was some serious mud all weekend. I don’t think I took my wellies off at all apart from inside my tent! Luckily though it only really rained on the night times though and it was quite warm in the day so I didn’t let the mud put me off baring abit of leg!

As you can see in the second picture I have a blue feather hair extension. There was an onsite hair salon doing various things including putting in lovely feather extensions. Me and Caroline both had one put in and I decided on this pretty blue one. I love it and the best bit is that they are attached with a special bead and stay in for 8 weeks and can be washed and styled just like normal hair so it's so easy to maintain!

Anyway as usual I’m rambling so i'll leave it there. I promise I’ll upload more soon as I’m on holiday now from school for 6 weeks!

My week in pictures

Friend's Birthday meal <3 Color Bug experiment <3 Homemade cookies <3 Dance Show <3 Minty Lace <3 Sister is prom queen at leavers prom <3 Maia <3 All the girls  at Grace's meal

Just a few pictures from my week, some instagram, some not! I'm going out in a couple of hours to my village's annual event 'Cottingham Day'! It's not exactly the most exciting event in my social calender but it is such a beautiful day and i need to embrace all the sun i can get! I hope the weather stays lovely for when i go to Latitude next week! Later on today i'm going round to my friends and we are going to be brave and watch The Woman in Black- i havent seen it yet. Apparently it's not that scarey but i'm a complete wimp when it comes to scarey films so it is brave of me! Hopefully the popcorn will help me through it! I have a feeling today is going to be a day of pigging-out which isn't very good when i have Mallorca in 20 days! Oh well..! As you can see from the picture my beautiful sister won the title of prom queen at her year 13 prom, she also won ' Most likely to marry a member of the royal family' which if youy knew her you would find quite amusing! Although i'm happy for her it is another sign that she is packing her bags and leaving me after the summer to go to uni in Bristol which  is a good six hour drive from where we live. It is going to be very strange from being the youngest of three siblings to being an only child as my brother is at uni too. It will be hard for me to see her go, but i guess i'll just have to make the most of the time we have together this summer!
Anyway that's it for me today! Is anyone else doing anything nice today/ this summer?
P.S - doesn't Maia look cute!?

Nelly!

My designed shoe on NELLY.COM

I hope everyone is having a lovely last day of half-term (apart from those lucky people who have an extra day!). Today I have just been revising and looking on blogs/sites. I came across this competition to design a shoe for Nelly, an online fashion company and thought why not?! So I designed this shoe! It reminds me a liitle of some shoes similar to this in topshop at the moment, although i changed them abit! I decided to do a pastely mauve colour as i am pretty obsessed with pastels currently! Also I did a glitter heel because- well to be honest I thought it looked pretty! So i'd really like to ask anyone who reads this a big favour to vote for my shoe if you like it! I know it is very unlikely that I'm going to win but it would be pretty amazing if i got a few votes! So there you go, I'll get back to my regular posts soon!

P.S - I have bonded with Maia (my new cat) and I have to say, she is such a cutie!

Dungarees Days...

T-shirt: Band shirt (Pete and the pirates)
Dungarees: Vintage
Jacket: H&M
Shoes: Topshop
Socks: White Stuff

I've decided yet again to procrastinate from revision and do a blog post. I'M FAILING MY GCSES FOR YOU!!! Hahaha just kidding guys, I’ll be fine! Anyway, this is what I wore on a family road trip to the cute little town of Lincoln. In retrospect it would of been a better idea to go the day after because lots of the little vintage shops I would of liked to have gone in were closed still for the optional bank holiday *sigh*, but I didn’t let this dampen my spirits and still soaked up everything Lincoln had to offer. Plus, some of the little shops were still open to have a nose around. When I say a nose that is all it was because I am trying to save my money for my holidays!

Onto the clothes! I understand that dungarees may not be everyone’s cup of tea, and admittedly I’m not a fan of the full length ones, however I absolutely love these short ones that I picked up from a vintage shop in my local area called Chinese Laundry. I was surprised when I found them in there, as that particular shop is one of those places where I can never seem to find anything that I like or is indeed in my price range, but despite this I both liked and could afford these at just £15! Plus they are so cosy! I apologise for wearing this leather jacket two posts in a row! It seems to be my go to item at the moment for completing my outfits- I can literally wear it with anything! We're at this funny time of year where it seems too warm to wear a coat but you know you are going to freeze without one so a leather jacket is abit of an essential! You can't really see it on here but I’m wearing the t-shirt of a really good band I’ve seen a couple of times called Pete and the Pirates. I'm not really into buying band t-shirts as souvenirs as I find them a waste of money, nut i really liked the design on this shirt and because kits quite a quirky name for a band that isn't widely known I took the plunge and bought it!
Anyway, that just about sums up this post! For those of you on half-term break enjoy the little bit of the holiday we have left (this week has literally flown past)!

P.S - Maia (my new cat for those who don’t know) is starting to settle abit more and has not hidden from me today! We had quite a nice time earlier playing. She was purring so much she sounded like a motorbike engine. Bless.
P.P.S - I saw American Pie: The Reunion the other night. It is ridiculously funny!

A nod to Jesus...

Dress: Topshop
Jacket: H&M
Earrings: Topshop

Well, I'm sorry to have to start by grovelling but I’m sosososo sorry I haven’t been on here for absolutely yonks! I've had exams, revision, ect. so I haven’t exactly had time to go on the computer, never mind go out and take pictures of what I’m wearing but I am determined to knuckle down with this blog as I do enjoy writing it (despite the very small amount of traffic my blog receives!).

I wore this for a brief trip into town and then to a wedding that I was singing in with my choir. I love this dress, but I got it from Topshop quite a while ago so I don’t think it's still available! It has beautiful embroidery on the front though! Unfortunately my outfit didn't get to make an appearance in the wedding service as I had to wear a delightful red floor length choir robe. However I did keep my earrings on for the service which in the end (through no planning) was coincidentally quite appropriate as they are crucifix earrings and the wedding was in a church!  I should probably point out that the earrings were definitely more of a fashion statement than an actual 'nod to Jesus' but oh well I still wore them to church!
Anyway, I'd better strop procrastinating and continue with my revision *sigh* I will update soon!

P.S - I bought a cat today from the RSPCA and called her Maia! She's so cute but sadly has hidden under the hole in the kitchen cabinet out of nerves, bless!
P.P.S - I'm having abit of an ugly day, excuse the lack of makeup!

Cat nails? Hell yeah!

Cat nails? Hell yeah!
Woah I am such a bad blogger, I haven’t posted in over 1 week of actually creating this blog ahaha! I think I can be forgiven though as I had three gcse exams last week; I think they went ok but it’s hard to tell. I will hopefully be abit more committed next week though as I don’t have any exams for abit now!

Anyway, as you can see from my (not particularly well taken) pictures I have currently got THE most amazing finger nails ever! I saw a post about them on a blog that I read quite alot and thought 'I have to have these babies!' I painted the background in a No7 lilac-y type colour as it said not to use dark colours on the instructions and it turned out to work quite well!

I bought these reasonably inexpensively at £2.30 a set from  a fantastic (and may I add British) ebay seller called Jan Christie. Out of a wide selection of cats, dogs, birds, ect. I decided on these tabby cats and also some pug faces which I will show you once I have tried them soon! They were so easy to apply! All I did was paint my nails in my chosen colour and leave them to dry fully (really important they're completely dry); then cut around each sticker leaving abit of room around the edge; pulled them off the backing (I found it easy to use a pin), and placed one on each nail then applied a couple of layers of topcoat. Trust me, I'm not very crafty, if I can do it anyone can!

After talking to Jan she also informed me she has a website too with an even bigger selection on! (http://janchristie.com/)  I have completely fallen for these nail stickers and would recommend them to anybody! Every time I look down at my nails I get a little smile! I think my next purchase may be the black cat's face with green eyes. Let me know if you try or have tried these, I'd love to hear what you think!
